2LT Brody Medeiros ‘24
Brody Medeiros was this year’s recipient of the Martin Beitler Ethics Essay Award. Brody majored in military history and was an avid member of West Point’s Hockey Team. He is also passionate about studying history and in addition to excelling academically, Brody was a student in Dr. Frey’s XH 405, The Holocaust and its Legacy and served as senior editor of Report: West Point Undergraduate Historical Review. His senior honors thesis, “The Fallibility of Man: Degradation of Morality within Nazi Germany,” examined the devolution of morality within Germany prior to the outbreak of World War II through the lens of Otto Ohlendorf, the SS Commander of Einsatzgruppe D. Brody commissioned as an Infantry officer and will head to Fort Liberty, North Carolina, where he will serve as a platoon leader in the 82nd Airborne Division.
